cholayilbabu: sukham....venuvettanu sukhamalle

Venu: My health has improved somewhat, though I do not know the reason why except that I am meditating more intently nowadays.

cholayilbabu: good...and hoping much more speedy recovery...

Venu: So what else is news?

cholayilbabu: going fine..and in busy with kairali vayanashala marayamangalam 50 th anniversary

Venu: If it is in Malayalam, do not bother. Because, most unfortunately, I do not read much Malaalam - except newspaper headlines. You see, I was born and brough up in Malayasia and was in Kerala only for a few years totally. Most of the time I was out of Kerala and therefore my Malahyalam has remained undeveloped.

cholayilbabu: it is a visual documentry

Venu: Ok, then it will be fine. I shall send you a e-mail so that you can attach it in return e-mail. Otherwise you may tell me the site where it is posted so that I can visit that site.

cholayilbabu: i know your e mail id.let me try once more...then how is the climate there?is it cold there now?

Venu: Not very cold yet. It get colder here only in January.

Babu Maash - 07.11.09

cholayilbabu is busy.
Calling cholayilbabu@gmail.com at 20:42 on Saturday
cholayilbabu: sorry venu vetta...my head set is out of order

Call with cholayilbabu@gmail.com not answered at 20:43 on Saturday
Venu: I shall call later.

cholayilbabu: o.k.busy aano

Venu: No, I am not busy. The office is closed and I am staying in the office.

cholayilbabu: o.k.how to pass your time as you r alone...

Venu: For some reason, I never get bored. I read a bit, watch TV a bit and browse the net a bit. On the net I participate in some forums, mostly religious forums, and post my comments there. And since I am a lazy fellow, I lie down doing nothing during holidays.

cholayilbabu: being holiday tomorrow y in the office? actually are you in so much bad condition?

Sent at 20:49 on Saturday
Venu: Well, I am actually in somewhat of a bad condition. But that apart, I have always wanted to live in a cave! This situation is cave-like, I am alone in a huge buidling, with only the watchman in the building and I rarely see him! By living in a cave I meant the "sanyasi" type of living.

cholayilbabu: good..sir is your wife alone at house

Venu: No, she is there with my two children, who are studying for LLB. We communicate over the phone if necessary. Sometimes I take a break and go home and stay there for two weeks.

cholayilbabu: how far is office from your house...

Venu: It is about 1 and a half hours by train and bus. About 40 kms, I think.

cholayilbabu: o.k where is your wife house at kerala

Venu: Remember, in Mumbai this is a short distance. Everyone travels this distance up and down daily.
My wife's house is in Anamangad, Malapuram Dt. It is between Cherpalcherry and Perinthalmana. There is a RSS school in Olingara, near Perinthalmana.. I worked there for about a year.

cholayilbabu: i know that school....during which period u worked there...on of my friend Rajendu is working there...you said you are somewhat in a bad condition...actually what is wrong in your health..

Sent at 21:00 on Saturday
Venu: I was there in 1998. I was a clerk there. I have a very unhealthy history! I was a long time sufferer of asthma, upto my 40th birthday. (I am 55 now). Then I went to an ashram and through pranayama my asthma got cured. Now I have diabetes and also nerve pain due to it. Since I was taking medicines from childhood for my asthma and found no relief and finally it was pranayama that cured it, I decided that I shall not see a doctor for my diabetes and for 10 years I have not seen a doctor. At one time I tested my blood sugar in a library I frequent and found that it was about 480, which is very high. So I am pulling on, with faith in cure through yoga and meditation. Let us see what happens.

Usman Khan - 05.11.09

Usman: Respected Sir, How are you?
Venu: Hi Mr. Usman, How are you. Are you calling from Lahore? I am in Mumbai.
Usman: Yes sir, i am from lahore...
Few days ago Miss Dalit asked me about yourself, she said don't try to chat with Venu on orkut...
Sir is there something serious...?
Venu: What are you doing? Are you working or studying? I am working as a Stenographer and my age is 55. I do not no Miss. Dalit, except she seems anti-RSS. RSS is a natioanlistic organisation in India. Many see it as a communal and anti-Muslim organisation. But this isnot true.
Usman: Ok, sir i am a student of Philosophy and Religion, still studying, and i am 25
Venu: Good. We can chat sometimes. I am not in front of this PC always. Most of the time I am taking dictation as I am a steno. Whenever you call and I am in front of the PC, I shall certainly talk to you. I am very interested in Sufism.
Usman: Sir, its my pleasure, I am also student of Sufism, But its difficult to find the true form of sufism, as in inida a lot of sects but no one is performing the true picture of sufism, and still i waiting for the perfect definition of sufism.
Sent at 14:06 on Thursday
Venu: According to me Sufis are people who have discovered freedom and will not part with that freedom at at cost. Once a King wanted to visit a famous Sufi, who was living in a hut. So the King's minister came and told the Sufi that the King is coming to visit you tomorrow. The minister thought that the Suffi will be very happy and look forward to the visit. Instead, the Sufi said, tell your King that my hut has two doors. If the King comes in through the front door, I will leave through the back door! Such are Sufis. The best of them were truly free, fearless and did not want any favours from anyone.
Sent at 14:09 on Thursday
Usman: Sir, there is something which brings a sufi out of fear and frustration. According to Quran, "Friends of God have no fear and frustration". And the only criteria to recognize God's friends is that they have no fear. So a sufi is a friend of God. But approaches towards sufism differs, sometimes a man who says, "My top priority if God" became a sufi and sometimes we need to struggle hard to become a sufi...
Sent at 14:13 on Thursday
Venu: Yes. What we become depends on what we already are. It is difficult to change the trajectory of our life but if we are really determined, we could become what we want to be.
Sent at 14:17 on Thursday
Usman: I agree with you, because i think, before my birth i was made what i want to be, now the problem is, i have to attain that situation again. I know you love Rumi, and you said me to send beautiful quotes of Rumi, If you Remember.
Sir, i have only one good quality and that is i don't forget people either good or bad.
Sent at 14:20 on Thursday
Venu: I have read a bit of Rumi and he was a marvellous mystic. About attaining something, it would do well if we understand that we and our circumstances are perfect. We already are what we might want to achieve. It is in a way an ignorance to feel that we are not OK now and have to achieve something to be OK. Actually we are perfect. We have only to celebrate our perfection.
Sent at 14:24 on Thursday
Usman: Well sir, my teacher said "Psychology when applied to others is a science and when it is applied to one's ownself is mysticism". I think Sufis have attained to applied psychology on their own self, they can judge what they said, and their words follow their actions and that's what make them different from society.
Sent at 14:26 on Thursday
Venu: There are lot of teachings in Hinduism yet it is widely agreed that the aim of all teachings is to attain the state of non-duality as taught in the highest Hindu teachings. Likewise I think the state of "sufihood" could well be the aim of Islamic teachings but this is not very apparent as Islam appears to have come into the grip of Mullahs who go by the word and not the spirit of the word, just as the Church has hijacked the teachings of Jesus, which is one of love. In Hinduism also there are many who stick to the word and practise the detested caste system. Man should become free and he would no longer want to imprison anyone - sometimes he needs to become free from religion also, as religions tend to imprison people.
Usman Khan: Kings do not kill kings

Usman: The religion is nothing but a way towards God, Actually islam has more than 50 sects now, but the only sect which welcomes all is Sufism, not only to muslims but to all the humanity. For the past few years i am trying to be a sufi, i have leart that Sufism is the way toward God not towards individuality or towards illusion, but a few sects of sufism make a man an angel, and i think a man is a man and was a man before the angel was born. So a man is important....
well said, it is very common to be uncommon and it is very uncommon to be common. Be common but do not adopt the habits of common...
Venu: You are right. I wish you all the best in becoming a Sufi. It was great talking to you and we shall continue another day. Best wishes to you and your family and friends. Bye for now.
Usman: Thank you sir.

cholayilbabu is busy.
Venu: No. Yesterday I think there was a misunderstanding. I could have spoken both to you and Achu Maash simultaneously. Anyway, am happy you have called now.

cholayilbabu: yes sir...but i was a bit busy that,s why i quit

Venu: Are you having holiday today?

cholayilbabu: No sir I am on leave for 3 days....fever....
head set undo....

Venu: What is your programme today. Are you taking rest the whole day?

Venu: The election results in Maharashtra are a set back yet again to BJP. What about the 3 bye elections in Kerala. Will LDF will all?

cholayilbabu: knr &ekm UDF strong hold....cannot predict......political scenario is also not good for LDF.....so............
why so for bjp in M.P
sorry maharashtra

Venu: When I was about 15 yrs old, in 1970, Ranadive, the CITU leader, had come to Cherpalcherry. I was taking Hindi tution at that time and my Hindi master took me to the meeting.

cholayilbabu: good sir....
do you have head set sir......

Venu: I think the BJP is losing because it is not articulating the Hindu position very strongly.
I do not have a head set.

cholayilbabu: is'nt that the base of BJP
then how in gujarath sir

Venu: Maybe there is a confusion in the BJP. There are also many who think that we should not to seen as too Hindu a party because that will limit our consittuency.
In Gujarat BJP victory is largely due to the image of Modi.

cholayilbabu: i think the plus and the limits is that for BJP is hinduthwa ajenda....
can an individual alone can make that difference...i mean modi alone
i think basically gujarath is a suitable place 4 BJP

Venu: Actually the problem may be because there is a misunderstanding about Hindutva. The BJP, as you know, was formed by the RSS for the specific purpose of advocating the nationalistic point of view in politics. But somewhere along the line, the Hindutva philosophy of the BJP has come to be seen as just support to only the Hindu community.
No party can depend on its growth on just one individual.

cholayilbabu: yes sir thats what i said....see in only 3 states cpm has the base...
but there should be one or a group to lead in front.......

Venu: CPM is an independent and individual political party. However the history of the BJP is that it has a unique link with the RSS. What is happening in the BJP now, I think, is that many are questioning the link with RSS.

cholayilbabu: how can BJP exist without RSS...who is supplying bread and butter for BJP

Venu: For a long time it was one party rule in India. Then it became fronts. Now, with the Congress scoring victories, it may revert to being a sinle party government in the next general elections.
Yes. I think the BJP-RSS link is still strong and deep in the RSS and it cannot be broken and people like me do not want it to be broken but strengthened.

cholayilbabu: yes sir that will happen....single party will come to power...but sir although i beleive in communist ideology i think it better when we think about tamil nadu U.P,bihar such states ...parties....this is my personal opinion....
but its pity when there is no opposition....

Sent at 12:49 PM on Saturday
Venu: Prakash Karat is a person who would make a good PM of India. Earlier, Jyoti Basu had an opportunity. But the party is too disciplined to allow individuals to become bigger than the party. In that way, I admire the CPM. The discipline and organisation of the CPM can only be compared to that of the RSS, which is also disciplined.

cholayilbabu: then how sir..vasundare raj sindya....jaswant singh..etc(i think he has no much connection with RSS)acting like this....
in keral V.S v/s pinarayi is a matter of that.....

Venu: I think Vasundare Raje should have been sacked out earlier because of her indiscpline. The BJP had no choice but to send out Jaswant Singh because he was praising the arch-villian of partition. In the RSS there is not sympathy for any anti-national sentiments.
Are you with Pinarayi Vijayan or Achuthannandan?

cholayilbabu: just aminute sir

Sent at 12:57 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: that question is sad sir...with pinarayi or V.s..as an individual iam with V.S but i cannot admit V>S..the reason is same as Vasundare Raje

cholayilbabu: yes sir i am back...r u busy.....
at office??????

Sent at 1:23 PM on Saturday
Venu: Hello there. Had gone for lunch. Our office closes at 2pm on Saturdays. But I stay in the office.

Sent at 2:06 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: do you bring lunch...and about your family sir....

Venu: As I stay in the office, I eat from the hotels all the time. I am staying in the office because I health is not well and travelling makes it worse. Therefore I go home only sometimes. But when I go, I stay there for a week or two. My wife and two children are staying in Airoli, Navi Mumbai.

cholayilbabu: about your 2 children....

Venu: They are both studying law. My son is in the final year and my daughter has two more years to go. What about your children?

cholayilbabu: my elder one +1 younger 5th both boys wife teacher at mundakkottukurssi

Venu: In which school are you teaching? I think you may have told me before. But I have forgotten.

cholayilbabu: I am now under deputation in an edn project SSA

Venu: Where have you been deputed to? Was SSA originally an BJP government project?

cholayilbabu: It is an world bank aid project...begun under BJP Govt...continuation of DPEP
at shornur

Venu: Why did you come to Mumbai recently?

cholayilbabu: my brother in law is getting married with a mumbai settled family girl..engagement was on 12th oct

Venu: Was it held in Mumbai? Is the marriage also going to be held in Mumbai?

cholayilbabu: Emgagement held at mumbai...marriage at Guruvayoor

Sent at 2:34 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: oru head set vangunnatha nallath...sir...

Venu: Great. As I told you before, I have since long not gone for any marriages, celebrated any festivals, even birthdays of my children etc. Everybody is convinced that you cannot live without money and you should strive to live only in the glamour of money. I am really against the money culture.
As this is office computer, they do not require head set and therefore have not bought it.

Sent at 2:38 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: money culture is increasing in our society..and the glamourus life....even my 16 year old boy wants a mobile having sound effects and camera

Venu: Yes. But this vice can be overcome only if the individual is spiritual. This science and art of spirituality is the real teaching of Hinduism.

Sent at 2:43 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: there we have different opinion....we can see so many overcoming this although they are not spiritual....can hinduism alone can teachspirituality sir...and i think the point spirituality means is it mere GOD???

Sent at 2:46 PM on Saturday
Venu: I think there are are many communists also who are spiritual. My Guru is a communist (he was a Naxlite). By spiritualiy I mean the non-dependence on any thing for phycholoical reasons. Spiritualism need not have anything to do with God. I do not believe in God in the way the Muslims and Christians. For them God is the Creator. I do not believe there is a creator. For me God is another word for existence.

Sent at 2:50 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: I agree with that definition u gave for God...now am studying astronomy..sir....being this is astronomy year...really that study ....about the universe...is astonishing me....todaydaily says our scientists have discovered a new star which is 1020 crore light years away from earth...then how can we say God alone( Materialised one)can control such a big universe....

Sent at 2:56 PM on Saturday
Venu: If there is a power controlling the universe, that power has to be within the universe and not seperate from the universe. In fact there is only one power in the universe and we may understand it best if we understand the power which is keeping us alive.

cholayilbabu: i didnt understand sir....an explanation....
I think u r free and not busy....

Sent at 3:01 PM on Saturday
Venu: The power that is keeping us alive is of course life itself. It is our essense and the essense of all existence. It is the Sat. That is why when somebody dies, we say in Malayalam, "Ayaal Chathu poyi". That mean his Jeevan has gone. Therefore Sat is life or Jeevan.

cholayilbabu: o.k sir...but nowadays the meaning of 'spiritual'is not treated like this

Venu: You have to study and understand the art and science of spirituality and practice it yourself to get the results. You cannot get any results by trying to judge others. For example, Mata Amritayanandamayi is a spiritual giant. But if you do not understand what spirituality is all about, you may judge her by her Mercedez Benz cars and conclude that she is also after money.

Sent at 3:07 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: Sir now i have a doubt when u quoted Amma.u said early we can over come all the thirsts(money...etc's)by being spiritual...as u said Amma having and using so many facilities...How can we say she is spiritual....

Sent at 3:11 PM on Saturday
Venu: That is a good point. Actually a person like Amma is not dependent on anything for her psychological well being. All these material things that surround her are because all the people who throng to her are in the begining material people. So when they feel comfortable in the presence of Amma, they will to show gratitude to Amma and they offer all sorts of material facilities. Amma accepts to for the use of the organisation. Later, after going deeper into spirituality, they become her disciples and they no longer offer money but dedicate themselves to her. Finally, when they have attained to a great level of spirituality, they become free even from any dedication to anyone. They themselves would become a light to others.

Sent at 3:15 PM on Saturday
cholayilbabu: o.k sir...its interesting for such a debate.....and we shall meet again.....
c.u.sir

Venu: Good bye for now. It was nice talking to you, Maash.

cholayilbabu: thank you...sir.....
